I live in the Peppergrass neighborhood on the south side of Bloomington. The small shopping center (with Kroger’s) on Walnut Street is close enough that I can walk to it. However, while there is sidewalk available most of the way, there is a short stretch on Walnut Street Pike between Heather and Rhorer Road where there is no sidewalk on either side of the road, and Walnut Street Pike can be a very busy street sometimes with cars that go pretty fast. There is no berm along the road. For that stretch, if you are walking, you have to walk in the road. It is very dangerous. I’m wondering who would be responsible for putting in a sidewalk for that short stretch. I have seen people walking in the road (and I have done so myself). Even a paved berm on one side would be a help. Thanks for looking into it.

That would be in the City jurisdiction. Andrew Cibor. andrew.cibor@bloomington.in.gov
